According to Major Art Littlejohn from the Spartanburg Police Department, the dreadful incident took place around 11:10 p.m. at the Victoria Gardens Apartments, nestled in the 600 block of Howard Street.

The child’s mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, directed officers to the scene, located high on the top of a stairway. It was here that the officers discovered the grim scene. The child, placed in the unsteadying spotlight of the violent ordeal, was badly suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Emergency Responsiveness

The wounded child was initially rushed to Spartanburg Medical Center, displaying the urgent response prioritized in such alarming cases. On assessing the severity of the child’s condition, she was later moved from the local medical facility to the Children’s Hospital in Greenville, essentially known for its advanced pediatric care.

The Child in Stable Condition

Major Littlejohn shared a shred of hope within the disheartening occurrence. He revealed that, despite the grim circumstance, the child was now in a stable condition and under the expert care of medical professionals.
