Spartanburg Baseball Fans Can’t Wait For Fifth Third Park Debut
Our good old Spartanburg, S.C. is buzzing with anticipation. Baseball lovers here are counting the minutes and seconds until Fifth Third Park throws open its gates. Expected to debut in April, this stadium promises to be the hot new home for the Hub City Spartanburgers. What’s more exciting is that fans are being offered an enticing chance to snag some free berm seating tickets, all while helping out a great cause. “Can’t wait to catch a game there for sure,” excited fan, Glenn Greer, confessed.
Our old-timers are surely brimming with nostalgia and excitement alike. Marion Drummond confessed that he has been in love with Spartanburg baseball his entire life. “I’m so excited about it,” Drummond said. “I still fondly remember those good old Spartanburg Phillies games from my childhood. I’ve even had the honor to coach baseball back in high school. I’m a big baseball fan.”
Fans Keenly Keeping up With Construction Progress
The enthusiasm of these true blue Spartanburgers is infectiously adorable. Cary Gaardsmoe hasn’t been able to contain his excitement and has been keeping tabs on the stadium’s progress. “The stadium is looking really awesome. Just I hope they’re ready by opening day,” said Gaardsmoe, echoing the sentiments of eager fans all over.
Putting all anxieties to rest, Estee Hemphill, the Director of Ticket Sales for the Hub City Spartanburgers, assured that the stadium is all in schedule to open doors in April. “We are about 85% done right now, so all the main structures are standing tall,” Hemphill quipped. Right now, they are focusing on the inside work such as carpeting, laying tiles, and installing drywall.
Stadium Aids Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
While construction is underway, the Hub City Spartanburgers have made a commendable effort in supporting Hurricane Helene relief by raising more than $12,000. “We were able to contribute to local organizations that are lending a helping hand to our community,” Hemphill added.
But their good deeds don’t end there. The team is rallying fans to bring five non-perishable food items to the team store, in return for which they will receive a free berm ticket. Berm tickets allow fans to sit on the grassy hill within the facility to watch the games, bringing a unique and laidback viewing experience. “The donations would be a big help, let’s all do our bit to restock the pantries,” Hemphill said, appealing to the generous spirit of Spartanburgians.
All donations will be directed to the Salvation Army of Spartanburg. Fans can make their contributions until December 31 and their tickets will be valid for any games scheduled in May, June, or September. So, let’s all join hands to make these relief efforts a resounding success!
