Here We Go, Spartanburg County! Early Voting For The November Election Begins.
It’s that special time of you the year again, folks! That season when we as engaged citizens gear up to make our voices heard on a grand scale. Yes, you’ve guessed it, election season is upon us again in good old Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Here’s the scoop, early voting for the anticipated November 5 election actually kicks off even before the leaves finish their fall color dance, beginning on October 21. No time for procrastination, let’s get up and get those votes in!
We Have Some Choices To Make
Discussions and debates have been had, the field has been inspected, and now, we’re down to choice-making time. The Spartanburg Herald-Journal did us all a favor and carried out an attempt to gather data straight from the horse’s mouth. They reached out to the candidates in the heated races, asking that they respond to questions that pertain to the office they aspire to fill. The idea was to get their takes before we, the voters, cast our ballots. Pretty thoughtful, don’t you think?
A Closer Look At The Race For District 38
Today, we’re going to zone in on the race that’s been causing quite the buzz around town – the run for South Carolina State House of Representatives District 38. This seat represents us, the good folk of Spartanburg County. So who’s got their name in the hat, you ask? Our current incumbent, Josiah Magnuson (R), is hopping back into the ring. Next to him on the ballot, we have the Democratic nominee JR Taylor. Quite the race it’s shaping up to be!
Waiting, Waiting, and More Waiting…
Moving right along, the elephant, or perhaps the donkey in this case, in the room is this – neither candidate responded to the Herald-Journal’s queries. Yes, you heard that right, folks. Neither Josiah Magnuson nor JR Taylor fired back any responses, leaving us tick-tocking and patiently waiting to hear their perspectives and promises. Now, whether this non-communication was just a time issue or something deeper, we can’t say. But it throws an interesting twist into this election season, doesn’t it?

Ultimately, even though we didn’t hear directly from our candidates this time around, it’s still vital that we show up and make our choices known. After all, every single vote counts. So, Spartanburg – it’s game on! Beginning October 21, step up, get out there, and make your mark!
