In a progressive educational move, Spartanburg community leaders have announced an initiative to create 400 paid, work-based learning opportunities for local high school students. The initiative, spearheaded by OneSpartanburg Inc., seeks to provide students with relevant work experience by partnering with leading employers in the area.
Building a Stronger Talent Ecosystem
Local businesses, governmental entities, and nonprofits, including Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, the Spartanburg Academic Movement, and Spartanburg County school districts, have committed to creating these internship positions. This program addresses the growing need for skilled talent among county employers.

Baseball and Broadcast Partnerships in Spartanburg
In another noteworthy development in Spartanburg, the Hub City Spartanburgers baseball team, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers, has announced a partnership with Fox Sports Spartanburg. A majority of the Spartanburgersโ 132 regular-season and postseason games will be broadcast live on Fox Sports, promising a riveting radio entertainment experience for the community. Fans will also be able to catch live shows from Fifth Third Park throughout the year.
Progress in Industrial Development
Spartanburg’s industrial scene has also seen some exciting developments. Real estate firm, CH Realty Partners LLC, announced it has secured a $50 million loan to refinance its 150,000-square-foot industrial facility in Union. This building houses MycoWorks, a pioneer in mycelium technology for sustainable manufacturing. The company utilizes cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced robotics to automate a significant portion of its production process.
Austria-based global automotive supplier, Benteler Automotive Corp, has also announced plans to invest $47.9 million in its Spartanburg County operations. The investment includes building improvements and updated machinery, fixtures, and furnishings at its plant in Duncan.
