Spartanburg Hosts Blues Concert with a Purpose as Adia Victoria Returns Home to Boost Voter Engagement

Spartanburg Welcomes Home Blues Sensation, Adia Victoria

In the heart of Spartanburg, a vibrant beat is pulsating through the city’s veins. Hometown gal and acclaimed blues artist Adia Victoria is making her return this Saturday. With her unique brand of blues and her mellifluous voice, Victoria isn’t just visiting to perform for her fellow citizens; she’s also aiming to rally the people to exercise their voting rights.

Excitement Fills Harvest Park

This Saturday, the sleep-inducing silence will fall away from Harvest Park as stages light up and people gather to behold a musical spectacle. Our town’s very own Adia Victoria, spoken word / hip-hop artist Moody Black and Remedy 58, winners of the 2023 Battle of the Bands held at the Chapman Cultural Center, will all be there to serenade the crowd. The concert is lined up just two days before early voting kicks off for the all-important 2024 elections.

For those not in the know, Adia is not just a Spartanburg hometown heroine, she’s made a considerable splash on the national stage too. Her soul-stirring music recently made its way to the Top 10 Billboard Blues Charts. One of her song “Magnolia Blues”, tickled former president Barack Obama’s musical taste buds enough to be included in his favorite songs list of 2021! Now, that’s something to hum about!

Music With a Mission

This isn’t just an ordinary concert, mind you. It’s got a noble cause hand-in-hand with its rhythmic beat. Presented by SIREN (Spartanburg Initiative for Racial Equity Now), the show isn’t just here to entertain but also to empower. The proceeds from this musical feast will go toward funding get-out-the-vote efforts in particularly those precincts which witness low turnouts or have minority population.

Join the Musical and Democratic Process!

If you are keen to be part of this unique blend of music and democracy in Spartanburg, here are the details you need for the day. The concert is slated to start at 7 p.m., while the doors open an hour before, at 6 p.m. To join the grand show filled with rhythm and civic duty, you can get your tickets and secure your spot in the vibrant crowd.

In the spirit of the upcoming events, it’s clear that Spartanburg is more than just our town; it’s a place of unity, community, and a shared love for music and democratic involvement. You’ll not only be enjoying a night of great music but also partaking in the betterment of your community. So, let’s celebrate our town, its talent, and the importance of our votes!
