ARKU Inc. to Create Jobs and Strengthen Spartanburg County Economy with New Facility

ARKU Inc. to Boost Job Market and Economy in Spartanburg County

Greetings folks of Greer! Buckle up because there’s some exciting news coming your way! ARKU Inc., a reputable manufacturing company, has decided to set up shop right here in our Spartanburg County, and this move comes along with a multimillion-dollar investment! This isn’t just an upgrade for our city’s looks, folks; it’s set to create ten new jobs too!

ARKU Inc., a family-run company that specializes in metal leveling and deburring, is known the world over for the remarkable quality of their work. A Germany-based company, ARKU was established back in 1928 and since then, has been consistently delivering top-notch services. This operation in the Spartanburg County is their first venture in South Carolina, which marks a significant milestone for the company.

Curious about the location? It’s all happening at 2740 S. Highway 14 in Greer, where the new operations are set to kick off this September. The many services include contract leveling for sheets, parts and metal plates suitable for sheet metal fabricators and automotive suppliers in the Southeast.

Looking Forward to Serving the Southeast

Nicholas Miller, the president of ARKU, couldn’t contain his excitement about the development. In his words, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new facility in Greer, S.C. This will allow us to extend our first-class leveling services to metalworking companies throughout the Southeast.”

And it’s not just us who are thrilled about this colossal move. Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt declared this wave of international investment as a point of pride and a strong testament to Spartanburg County being an attractive business destination.

The incoming job growth and investments brought by ARKU are expected to boost the economy in the upcoming months. In the past, companies have pledged up to $555 million, creating 150 new jobs already in 2024, and the momentum is anticipated to carry on! The council, optimistic about the future, expects some outstanding results in the following three months.

Breaking Past Records

If we take a stroll down memory lane, we see that last year, companies promised to put in $1.1 billion, resulting in the formation of 1,146 jobs. And in 2022, a staggering $4 billion was pledged in investments creating 1,742 new jobs. Quite fantastic, isn’t it?

According to John Lummus, the President and CEO of Upstate SC Alliance, the arrival of ARKU in Spartanburg County will undoubtedly bring diversity to our economy. He lauds the German brand’s decision to invest in Upstate S.C. and is hopeful the bold move will enrich the local manufacturing ecosystem.

So, folks, Spartanburg County is indeed on the uptrend, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! This is not just about adding business to our community; it’s about creating jobs, boosting our economy, and putting us on the global map. So, let’s raise a toast to the future!
