After a lengthy and dedicated investigation by the Spartanburg Special Victims Unit, a sinister and disturbing series of events has led to the arrest of a local man. Timothy Curtis Goode, aged 65, stands accused of the shocking crime of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Details of the case emerged as the mother of the minor involved contacted authorities about a deeply concerning incident. It seems Goode had hired her son for seemingly innocent yard work at his home. But once the boy had finished his tasks, he alleges that he was invited into Goode’s house.
Here, the young man describes a situation where he felt increasingly trapped. Goode, according to both the minor and the authorities, repeatedly requested the boy to expose himself, even going so far as to physically touch the victim’s genitals.
The authorities state that the boy felt cornered, believing he wouldn’t be able to leave Goode’s house until he complied with these orders. Once he did, Goode is alleged to have taken explicit photos of the minor, offered him snacks, and then driven him home.
In this distressing situation, the Spartanburg Special Victims Unit was able to secure a crucial search warrant for Goode’s cell phone, thanks to the detailed statement given by the victim. The findings cemented their case: explicit photos of the young man were found on Goode’s mobile device, the same ones he allegedly took after forcing the minor to expose himself.
With this evidence in hand, the authorities promptly arrested Goode. He was then officially charged with 4 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – First Degree, another 4 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Third Degree, and a charge of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.
A magistrate has deferred a bond arraignment for Goode to a circuit court judge. As of now, Goode remains detained in jail, awaiting his legal fate.
The story, however, does not end here. Authorities believe that there are potential additional victims who are yet to come forward. Concerned individuals with any information are being urged to reach out to Investigator Michael Hatch with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The arrest of Timothy Curtis Goode brings a sense of grim satisfaction, proving that even behind the quiet façade of everyday life, the investigative hands of justice remain vigilant. They continue to work relentlessly towards protecting the innocence of society’s most vulnerable members – our children.
