Duncan’s Rising Automotive Star: Benteler Automotive Corp. Unveils a Whopping $48M Expansion

Heads up, car fans! There’s been a big move in the local automotive scene. Benteler Automotive Corp., a globe-straddling auto parts supplier, has just bolstered its Spartanburg County operations. That’s right, folks, a massive $47.9 million expansion has come to Benteler’s manufacturing and assembly space in Duncan. This whopping investment promises not only significant building enhancements but also an upgrade for the machinery, fixtures, and furnishings.

At ground zero, the mood is electric (excuse the pun!). “We are excited to expand our manufacturing facility here in Spartanburg,” Benteler Spartanburg Plant Manager Chad Nelson announced. “This investment will enable us to improve our equipment and facilities technology to support the thriving automotive industry.” So, Benteler isn’t just here to play – they’re here to play a major role in lifting the local automotive scene!

According to Nelson, it’s “a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the automotive industry and Spartanburg County.” Benteler’s reinforced investment is a proud citation of their bond with the region and their dedication towards the local industry.

A Peek into Benteler’s Spartanburg Operations

For those of you less acquainted with Benteler’s Spartanburg chapter, here’s the lowdown: Settled comfortably at 1255 Howell Road in Duncan, the plant is a part of the global metal processing powerhouse, Benteler Group. The plant is a trusted supplier of auto-welded assemblies and modules to automobile manufacturers across the globe. Their product line is as impressive as their reputation, consisting of chassis systems, structures, exhaust systems, and engine applications.

Having first opened their Spartanburg County facility in 2006, Benteler’s expanded operations are now live and kicking!.

Local leaders have taken note (and are thrilled!). “Advanced manufacturing has long been the bread-and-butter for Spartanburg County, and Benteler expanding in our community is another positive proof point of that,” says David Britt, Spartanburg County Council Vice Chairman, and Economic Development Committee Chairman.
