Hey, Greenville! It’s that wonderful time of year again when the leaves are falling and the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie fills the air. Our beloved community is coming together once more, rallying around the youth of our town. In focus, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate (BBBS Upstate), that’s been right here, with us, supporting underserved youth for over half a century.
The big news is BBBS Upstate is gearing up for their annual spectacular event – the 16th Clemson-Carolina Pep Rally Fundraiser. Why’s that important, you ask? Well, 75 youth are currently waiting for mentors at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate and they need our support. Yup, 75 rising stars, right in our backyard, that we can help reach their full potential.
Through these annual events, the organization successfully matches one volunteer mentor (known as a “Big”) with one child (the “Little”), and they have a blast together! This ‘Big-Little’ pairing, which lasts for at least a year, has proven to be effective in keeping our kids in school and steering clear of trouble. Awesome, right?
This year, the much-awaited pep rally will host a variety of entertaining activities like live and silent auctions, and a drum line with team mascots. Imagine everyone together, in a celebratory spirit, feasting on yummy tailgating-themed food and drinks, all to a backdrop of inspiring music.
Oh, and did we mention where it’s all happening? The Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center on Verdae Blvd is the proud Title Sponsor of this event. So, it’s not just a chance to show your support, but an opportunity to enjoy one of Greenville’s finest locations. Mark your calendar for November 15th, and be there at 6:30 p.m.
As the chill hits the air and the cozy season sets in, stay ahead of time and get your wardrobe ready! The perfect time of the year to grab your sophisticated winter exercise apparel, available in an array of styles and colors. And, it’s an absolute must to have those moisturizing lotions handy to keep the winter itch at bay in the colder months.
So, as we head into this wonderful season of giving and goodwill, let’s rally around the wonderful work being done by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate. Together, we can help these deserving kids off the waitlist and into the guiding hands of a caring mentor.
