Chef and creator William Cribb founded Cribbs Kitchen on Spring Street in downtown Spartanburg, SC, in 2009. The Cribb family, who started out as peach farmers in the Upstate, built a reputation for exuberant celebrations and great hospitality. William worked tirelessly with his team to bring to reality the delectable ideals of great food, fine wine, and stimulating conversation. Based on the family values of the Cribb’s dining table, a previously tiny business quickly became the culinary heartbeat of Spartanburg.
William was introduced to fellow local company owner Raj Patel after several successful years on Spring Street. The two entrepreneurs developed a vision for the notion they jokingly referred to as a “Pop & Pop” venture’s growth and development. On July 14, 2011, they welcomed their first guests into the new Cribbs Kitchen. This flagship restaurant, just a few blocks from the first, remains a staple of the downtown Spartanburg food scene.
Cribbs Kitchen is still going strong after more than ten years in operation. Cribb’s Kitchen’s strong sense of culture and community involvement enables it to progress in future initiatives. What was true in the beginning remains true today as the company adds additional sites and extends its family:
At the Cribbs Kitchen table, there is always room for one more.
