Three Suspects Arrested Following High-Speed Chase in Duncan, South Carolina

Three Suspects Apprehended After Car Chase and Crash

On a typical Tuesday evening in Duncan, South Carolina, a scene that seemed more out of an action-packed film than everyday life unfolded. Local law enforcement authorities reported that three suspects were taken into custody following a frenzied pursuit.

The incident began around 4:40 p.m. when deputies were alerted about a crash involving a white Chevy Camaro at the juncture of East Main Street and Berry Shoals Road. Three men were seen abandoning the vehicle and making away on foot.

A Connection to Recent Drive-by Shootings

In an interesting twist of events, the Chevy Camaro these individuals were driving was similar to a vehicle tied to recent drive-by shootings. Naturally, this raised the stakes for law enforcement, and they quickly mobilized K-9 units, aviation, and uniform patrol units to hunt down these individuals.

In a classic cat-and-mouse style, one sharp-eyed deputy spotted the men boarding a black Kia SUV and vacating the scene. As other deputies attempted to halt the SUV, they noticed multiple men in the back seat popping their heads up, peering at them through the back window. But again, the chase was on!

A Dramatic Confrontation and Capture

Finally, near the entrance of River Falls subdivision, the SUV came to a halt, and one of the suspects was promptly arrested. The two remaining suspects, however, had other plans. They decided to take their chances on foot, evidently thinking they could outsmart the law enforcement officers on their tail.

Their escape attempt, though bold, was short-lived. Thanks to the expertise of the K-9 track unit and aviation support, the remaining suspects were located and taken into custody. During the arrests, at least one firearm was recovered, further contributing to the growing body of evidence against the trio.

The drama didn’t end there, though! Throughout this incident, a local educational institution, Spartanburg Community College, was on lockdown. Fortunately, this was only a precautionary measure and the lockdown was eventually lifted.

Investigation Now In Progress

With the suspects apprehended, the sheriff’s office’s gang unit is now leading the case’s continued investigation. As we eagerly wait for more information, we are reminded once again of the bravery and dedication of our local law enforcement officials who work tirelessly to keep our city safe.

As this dynamic story continues to develop, you can be sure that we will bring you the latest updates and insights. At the end of the day, such incidents underline the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement, to ensure the safety, peace, and prosperity of our beloved city.
