Columbia, South Carolina – The high school football playoffs are in full swing, with teams across South Carolina battling for glory. On November 15, several games concluded, setting the stage for upcoming matchups. The playoffs have brought excitement and fierce competition, showcasing the talent of young athletes in the region.

Class 5A Division I Highlights

In the Class 5A Division I bracket, Dutch Fork, the top seed from Upper State, received a bye into the next round. Meanwhile, Boiling Springs made a statement by defeating Dorman 32-0, showcasing their offensive power. River Bluff also shined, overpowering Mauldin with a score of 36-6. Clover narrowly edged Blythewood, ending the game at 31-28.

As the next round approaches on November 22, Boiling Springs will face Dutch Fork, River Bluff heads to Rock Hill, Clover will battle JL Mann, and Byrnes faces Spartanburg. All eyes will be on these matchups as teams vie for a shot at the championship.

Class 5A Division II Recap

The Class 5A Division II games saw Northwestern and Greenwood both earning byes. Indian Land had an impressive showing against Eastside, winning 34-7, while Hillcrest dominated Nation Ford 48-23. Catawba Ridge edged Woodmont by a slim margin, finishing at 38-35.

Looking forward to November 22, Indian Land will take on Northwestern, Hillcrest meets Greenwood, Catawba Ridge clashes with TL Hanna, and Riverside goes against Gaffney in what promises to be thrilling encounters.

Class 4A Action

In Class 4A, Westside crushed Lakewood 55-0, while AC Flora triumphed over Emerald, 40-20. Camden notched a solid victory against Pickens, and Wren defeated Lancaster 41-21. South Pointe made headlines with an astonishing 77-0 victory over Blue Ridge, showing their offensive dominance.

As the playoffs continue, AC Flora will challenge Westside, Camden will meet Wren, Greer prepares for South Pointe, and Richland Northeast faces Daniel on November 22.

Class 3A Showdowns

In the 3A bracket, Mountain View Prep secured an easy win against Carolina, 42-0. Walhalla narrowly overcame St. Joseph’s 36-35, while Crescent defeated Union County decisively, 45-18. Christ Church asserted their strength, shutting out West-Oak 42-2.

Looking ahead, Walhalla will face Belton-Honea Path, Crescent takes on Christ Church, Woodruff goes against Powdersville, and Palmetto matches up with Belton-Honea Path on November 22.

Lower Class Victories

The action was just as fierce in Class 2A, where Clinton defeated Pelion 56-0, and Chester emerged victorious over Strom Thurmond with a score of 44-23. Parks and Chesterfield faced tough competitions, but emerged with commanding wins of 60-6 and 42-29 respectively.

Class 1A also saw dominant performances, with Abbeville shutting out CA Johnson 48-0 and Lamar overwhelming Whitmire 62-0. The competitiveness of the playoffs highlights the skill and passion that these teams bring to the field.

Upcoming Championship Schedule

As the playoffs heat up, the championship schedule has been announced. On November 22, Class 4A will feature Hammond against Porter Gaud, with a scheduled start at 7 PM in Charleston. The 8-Man championship will pit Laurens Academy against Richard Winn at a time to be announced. On November 23, the championship games will continue at Charleston Southern, showcasing the best teams across all classes.
