Concert Countdown: Key August Shows in Spartanburg

David Giles Trio

Popular for their rendition of songs by renowned artists including James Taylor, The Alman Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, and Bill Withers among others, the David Giles Trio will be performing live on August 2. This remarkable ensemble includes David Giles, Jeff Perry, and Lee Dill, and they are set to perform at Fretwell in Spartanburg.

Back-to-School Bash

Rhythm your way into the new academic year with a Back-to-School Bash scheduled for August 8 at the FR8yard. The much-anticipated event will feature foot-tapping performances by The Dirty South Band and Mercury Rising. Proceeds from the event will go towards The Citizens Scholars Institute.

The Grateful Brothers with Fern

Experience a perfect blend of folk and rock music with The Grateful Brothers’ tribute to The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band on August 9. Formed in 2016 by Zach Thigpen and Brad Crowe, the band will perform live at the FR8yard.

Emily with Strings Attached

Spartanburg-based singer, as well as songwriter Jamison Smith, will be holding an exclusive performance on August 14 at the FR8yard. This is definitely an event you do not want to miss.

Jack Greer

Enjoy a soulful night on August 21 with Jack Greer’s mesmerizing country blues mixed with Americana classic rock. The Greenville native, who has been wooing audiences for nearly 50 years, will perform at the FR8yard.

The Abbey Elmore Band

Listen to some indie pop brilliance with The Abbey Elmore Band from Carolina. The band will perform at Fretwell on August 23.

Mackenzie Morrow

Mackenzie Morrow, known for her unique blend of pop, electronic, hip-hop, and punk music, will perform live on August 24 at Fretwell. Her latest album, “Black Butterfly” was released in August 2023.

Brian Regan

Comedy fans are in for a treat on August 24 with a stand-up performance by Brian Regan at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Regan, who debuted on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1991, released his Netflix special “On The Rocks” in 2021.
