Construction Company Announces New Headquarters in Downtown Spartanburg

Clayton Construction Co. to Shift Corporate Hub

In a strategic move demonstrating their dedication to contributing to the economic and cultural vitality of Spartanburg, commercial general contractor, Clayton Construction Co., announced their upcoming relocation to a new corporate headquarters situated at 316 W. Main St. in downtown Spartanburg. The relocation is set to happen early in 2025 and is expected to strengthen the company’s ties with the local community and enhance collaboration with local partners.

Historical Ties with New Location

The building, formerly occupied by Event Rentals, holds historical significance for Clayton Construction Co. as it was originally constructed by the firm itself. McMillan Pazdan Smith has redesigned this space for Clayton Construction Co., while Young Office has played a pivotal role in furnishing the new headquarters.

Clayton Construction Co., a company that has been rooted in Spartanburg since 1981, finds a unique sense of pride in this move. President of Clayton Construction Co., Todd Horne, expressed his excitement over the relocation, stating, “West Main Street is a crucial corridor into downtown Spartanburg and our team is thrilled to lead the charge to help this revitalization become a reality for our community.”

Symbolizing Growth and Commitment

The shift to downtown Spartanburg symbolizes a key progression for Clayton Construction Co. that was founded by Wren and Sophie Clayton almost four decades ago. The company has hailed their relocation to a downtown hub as their commitment to the development and growth of the community.

The opportunity to move into a building that they originally constructed for another occupant marks a significant milestone in the company’s history. Their new address will not only create a centralized hub for operations but also enhance collaboration with local partners and strengthen communal engagement. This strategic move highlights Clayton Construction Co.’s commitment to Spartanburg’s economic and cultural prosperity.

An Economic Boost for Spartanburg

With this relocation, Spartanburg is expected to witness a major economic and cultural boost. As a local company, Clayton Construction’s move to the heart of the city is not only an addition to the corporate landscape but indicates a more profuse influx of economic activities in the area.

As a result of this planned relocation, Clayton Construction Co. is expected to intensify the ongoing revitalization of the West Main Street corridor into downtown. As they take up their new address in early 2025, this move is set to renew the buzz in the local real estate scene.

There’s a positive anticipation within the community aimed at the strong socio-economic bonds this move will facilitate. With this change of address, Clayton Construction Co. is set to renew its pledge towards contributing to the vibrant Spartanburg community.
