Authorities discovered a large shipment of illegal drugs at a Spartanburg County shipping company leading to one arrest. In a significant victory for local law enforcement, an elaborate drug trafficking operation was uncovered in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Authorities have taken a man into custody and seized a massive amount of drugs and general equipment related to the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics.
The discovery took place when the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a package that previously raised suspicion at a local shipping company. According to reports, the shipment contained a staggering quantity of illicit substances, including 4,487 grams of fentanyl.
Officers subsequently executed a search warrant on the address listed on the suspicious package. Upon their arrival, it was determined that the resident was hiding in the attic of the duplex property in an apparent bid to evade law enforcement officers. The suspect was found on the other side of the duplex and was taken into custody without incident, a notable addition to the growing tally of arrests stemming from drug-related crimes in the county.
A detailed search of the duplex resulted in the discovery of 4,200 grams of powders that field-tested positive for Xyilazine and Eutalone, an assault-style rifle and a handgun, a pill press capable of producing up to 5,000 pills in an hour, and several large bags of pill binders.
A 39-year-old resident of Moore, known as Delvin Lamont Kennedy, was charged with a variety of offenses. These included trafficking fentanyl over 28 grams, trafficking meth over 400 grams, second-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a person convicted of possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Authorities have hinted that additional accusations might be brought forward pending further investigations and laboratory testing of the seized drugs.
HERE News Network acknowledges the steadfast efforts of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and all associated security agencies in pursuing such high-stakes operations. Their work helps safeguard the community from the horrifying effects of drug addiction and related criminal activities.
