Rock Hill, SC – The Winthrop Eagles softball team is gearing up for a midweek matchup against Wofford College on Wednesday, Mar. 13.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Winthrop and Wofford College, as the Terriers are in their inaugural year of competition.
The Eagles are coming off a 1-3 weekend at Georgia Southern and are using this midweek game as final preparation before diving into Big South Conference action against Presbyterian College.
The Eagles recently celebrated their 3000th game in program history, marking a significant milestone for the team. Looking back at the 2022 season, the Eagles finished just outside the top 4 in the league standings with a winning record.
Head Coach Kendall Fuller is leading the team with a strong focus on building on past successes. Fuller, in her second stint with the Eagles, brings a wealth of coaching experience to the field.
Players to watch for milestone achievements include Reese Basinger, Paige Rivas, and Ashton VanHouse, who are making their mark on the program’s record books with impressive stats.
Following the matchup against Wofford College, Winthrop will kick off their Big South Conference action against Presbyterian College on Mar. 15-16 in Clinton, S.C.
