ROEBUCK, S.C. – Leading equipment manufacturer, Carbotech Group, has announced its plan to establish the company’s first-ever South Carolina operation in Spartanburg County. Carbotech Group, a renowned name in the sawmill industry, specializes in the production of log handling and wood processing optimization equipment.
The company has reportedly purchased a 14,000 square-foot facility located at 129 Old Airport Road in Roebuck. This facility is set to house the manufacturing and storage operations of the company’s equipment and spare parts. Beyond production and storage, the new operation will also encompass a training center dedicated to employee skill enrichment and training.
Carbotech Group expressed that the facility is currently online and on its way to becoming fully operational by 2026.
This move by Carbotech is expected to significantly boost the local economy of Spartanburg County. The investment promises job creation opportunities and a positive contribution to the local labor market. Further, the selection of Spartanburg County not only validates the region’s growing business dynamism but also its significant role in the evolving manufacturing landscape of South Carolina.
With its first South Carolina operation, Carbotech Group aims to capitalise on the strategic location of Spartanburg County which offers a congenial environment for industrial and manufacturing growth. This expansion also signifies the company’s ongoing commitment to produce quality equipment for sawmills and support the ever-evolving needs of the sawmill industry.
The operational and workforce training aspects of the new facility will likely play a key role in fostering a skilled labor force in the area, poised to take on the technical challenges of complex equipment manufacturing. With this, areas such as Roebuck in Spartanburg County will be encouraging a skilled pool of labor which will spur industrial progress in the county and beyond, enhancing South Carolina’s reputation as a prominent hub for industrial developments in the country.
While the complete transitions to full-scale operations are expected to conclude by 2026, the anticipation of positive impacts on the local workforce and economy are already drawing attention, placing Spartanburg County as a sought-after destination for industrial growth in South Carolina.
