The Land of Oz in Beech Mountain, North Carolina pulls out all the stops this year to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the classic MGM film, “The Wizard of Oz”. From September 6 – 18 , 13 – 15, and 20 – 22, you can journey down the yellow brick road, a trip that would transport you straight into the heart of the beloved story.
Experience the Renaissance Vibe
Meanwhile, on September 6 and 7, Greer City Park transforms into an enchanting realm for the Upstate Renaissance Faire. Artisans, performers, and food vendors come together to celebrate the spirit of the Renaissance period.
Get Bilingual with Story Time
On September 6 at the Hughes Main Library, the Bilingual Story Time opens a world of stories for kids seven years and under with cuentos, or stories told in both English and Spanish.

Take part in the Starry Nights programs happening at Roper Mountain Science Center on September 6. “Legends of the Night Sky: Perseus & Andromeda” begin proceedings at 4:30 p.m., followed by “Experience the Aurora” at 6 p.m., and “Exploding Universe” wraps up the evening at 7:30 p.m..
