A Celebration of Fall: Spartanburg Gears Up for Annual Festival with Sunshine and Local Delights

A Celebration of Fall in Spartanburg

Good morning, Spartanburg! Well, brace yourself for a bit of a mixed weather bag today. While the early birds amongst you might have noticed our skies being rather overcast this morning, you might want to consider grabbing your umbrella. Scattered showers and the occasional thunderstorm are on the forecast for the afternoon with a 50% chance of rain.

However, after the heat of the summer, this is a refreshing change as we step into the fall. With temperatures predicted to hover around a pleasant 79°F today, the breeze easily hits 5 to 10 mph from the SSE. Don’t let the cool weather damp your spirits, Spartanburg! Night time will bring a 90% chance of thunderstorms and a low of 67°F, setting up the perfect cozy atmosphere for a pleasant evening indoors!

Fall for Spartanburg Festival Rounds the Corner!

In more exciting news, it’s time to mark your calendars as Spartanburg’s second annual Fall for Spartanburg Festival gears up to paint the town on September 28. And guess what? The weather predications for the D-day are pretty optimistic with mostly sunny forecasts!

This year’s festival, to be held in the heart of the city at Magnolia, Dunbar, and Spring streets, is bound to be bigger and better with over 60 vendors all set to bedazzle us. Expect to soak in local culture, craft, music, and of course, delicious food.

Cara Slattery, proprietor of Cara Bella Boutique, expressed her excitement about the festival mentioning that the size of the festival has more than doubled since last year. Spanning from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., it is all set to invigorate the city’s downtown and boost local businesses. And guess what folks, the event is absolutely free and so is the parking at the city’s garages during weekend hours.

What’s in store at the Festival?

So, what can you expect at the festival? A lot! Starting from handcrafted treasures by local artisans, delicious street food, to quality family time at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate—there’s something for everyone.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to the performances by local sensations T.J. Jeter and DJ Nuvo. It’s also a golden opportunity to explore our local restaurants and enjoy our thriving nightlife scene. As Ms. Slattery put it, “Our downtown has a great environment and there are a lot of new opportunities to enjoy good food.”
