Freddy’s Steakburgers Plans Major Expansion with 10 New Locations in Greenville and Spartanburg by 2031

Freddy’s Steakburgers Eyes Expansion in Greenville, Spartanburg

Renowned fast-casual restaurant Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is set to spread its culinary footprint across Greenville and Spartanburg with plans to open 10 new locations in the area by 2031. The expansion is a partnership venture with NFL player Ben Powers and the GVL Hospitality Group.

Exciting Partnership with an NFL Player

“I’m excited for this business venture with Freddy’s,” Powers said. The NFL athlete has always harbored ambitions of making it big in the business sector beyond his footballing endeavors. “Growing up, I always wanted to prove that I could make a name for myself on and off the football field.”

What to Expect from the New Locations

Freddy’s Steakburgers, with its origins in Wichita, Kansas, is a well-loved destination for gourmet steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, shoestring French fries, and a delicious variety of frozen custard options for dessert. With over 530 restaurants spread across 36 states, Freddy’s has further growth planned, with 150 new shops projected to sprout by 2025.

As part of their expansion strategy, the first new location in Greenville or Spartanburg is expected to make its debut by the end of 2025. This will follow in the footsteps of the sole existing Freddy’s Steakburger outlet located on Calhoun Memorial Hwy in Easley, Upstate.

Unfortunately, an Anderson-based drive-through and diner at 1702 East Greenville Street had to close its doors permanently about a year ago. However, the imminent expansion will undoubtedly fill the void left by its closure and increase the purveyor’s footprint in the area.
