Public invited to Greenline-Spartanburg master plan meeting
Residents of Greenville are cordially invited to contribute to shaping their city’s future at the Greenline-Spartanburg Neighborhood Plan Update workshop. This public event is scheduled for April 11, with discussions covering various elements, such as potential developments, affordable housing, and city infrastructure.
About the Workshop
The workshop aims to gather input from city dwellers in an effort to rework the previous master plan for the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood. Originally put together in 2001, the plan is now due for a a rehaul, especially considering the current state of the neighborhood, which now encompasses vacant properties, deteriorating water and sewer infrastructure, along with fragmented roads and sidewalks. The public workshop, to be held between 5:30 and 7 p.m., offers an opportunity for residents to contribute their thoughts and recommendations for the future of their community.
Consultation and Community Involvement
As part of its efforts to compile the best possible master plan, the city of Greenville has partnered with leading consultancy firm Arcadis, which previously worked on the city’s Downtown Airport District Plan. City inhabitants, alongside other important stakeholders, will collaborate closely with consultants, giving them a great chance to directly influence the future developments of their city. The updated plan aims to provide comprehensive recommendations regarding land use and development, affordable housing opportunities, enhancements to the roadway networks, stormwater management, and pedestrian connectivity within the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood.
Community Survey
In addition to face-to-face discussions at the public workshop, an inclusive community survey will be conducted, which will be reachable in person and online.
