Greenville Community Unites to Support Family After Tragic Loss from Hurricane Helene

Greenville Community Comes Together To Support Bereaved Family

In a touching display of community spirit, a local pizza shop in Boiling Springs, Greenville, embarked on a fundraiser for a family still reeling from their loss incurred during Hurricane Helene. The storm hit the Upstate on the morning of September 27, taking with it a loved one who had just left work on her way home.

Pizza Shop Opens Its Heart And Doors

The fundraiser spearheaded by Marco’s Pizza along Boiling Springs Road is a week-long initiative ending at 11 p.m. Thursday, October 10th. It seeks to assist the Fletcher family, who lost their beloved Annamaria to the fierce storm. In showing their unwavering commitment to always helping the community, Marco’s Pizza promised to funnel a percentage of all in-person and online orders made during the week towards helping the family. While the pizza shop’s management may never have personally interacted with Annamaria, they genuinely believe in supporting members of their community.

Tribute To Annamaria

Annamaria Fletcher, fondly remembered as a literature teacher at Boiling Springs High School, left an indelible mark on the Boiling Springs community. Regaled for her brilliant smile and magnetic aura, Annamaria was loved and admired. This admiration emanated from her innate ability to spark a fresh wave of energy every time she walked into a room; such was the power of her bright and lovable personality.

The Harrowing Incident

Unfortunately, Annamaria got caught up in the horrifying wrath of Hurricane Helene on her way home from work. Her father, Ronnie Fletcher, who relayed the chilling details, had just received a phone call from her advising him to stay put due to the worsening weather. But despite assuring his daughter of his impending arrival – merely two miles away – Ronnie had to tragically confront the reality of losing his precious daughter. A fallen tree at their home, likened to a detonated explosion by Autumn Fletcher – Annamaria’s sister – unfortunately claimed her life.

A Reinforced Community Bond

The community’s rallying behind the Fletcher family goes to show the strong bonds and love that the Boiling Springs community shares. Marco’s Pizza and indeed, the entire community’s action projects a message of unity, love, and care, especially during these tough times. Let’s all take up this noble call to extend our support to the Fletcher family in their time of need. After all, every small act of kindness has the potential to create ripples of impact, leaving a lasting mark on the lives of those we touch.
