Folks, let’s dive in to some exciting updates happening around Greenville. Especially tailored for new and expecting parents, there seems to be a flurry of events and resources popping up to help us all become the best caregivers we can be. It is comforting to see our community making these resources accessible for everyone. Let’s get started, shall we?
First up, we’ve got a Childbirth Preparation class scheduled for December 9th. This half-day class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Interested? Visit bonsecours.com to register or call 864-675-4400. And for those who’ve been there done that, remember, a refresher never hurt anybody!
Next, there’s a Breastfeeding Class happening on November 25 at 6 p.m., again at Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside. Mamas, you’d definitely want to check this out, so go register pronto! As the old adage goes, knowledge is power. And breastfeeding, it’s a skill to be mastered.
And if that doesn’t whet your appetite, Spartanburg Medical Center has an online breastfeeding class – Prepared Breastfeeding – scheduled on November 21 and December 19. Adding on to the list, Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside has also arranged for a class focused on Infant Safety at 6:30 p.m. on December 19. Yep, you’ve guessed it, register at bonsecours.com or ring 864-675-4400.
Looking for a hands-on guide to care for your newborn? Check out the Caring for Your Newborn class happening on November 21, 6:30 p.m. at the ever resourceful Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside.
And here’s something all of us could use – infant and child CPR classes. They’re being offered at Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside on November 13 at 6:30 p.m. and December 11. There’s also an earlier class scheduled at 11 a.m. on October 22.
For the new and expecting moms out there grappling with all the shock and awe motherhood throws at you, Navigating Motherhood might come as a breather. This free support group is provided by Reproductive Journey Counseling and Support, and all you mommies with tiny ones are welcome to join for delightful camaraderie and shared wisdom. The meetings take place on the first Monday and third Thursday of every month.

Greenville Technical College is also stepping up and offering free OB ultrasounds at its OB Ultrasound Clinic. Yes, you read that right – free ultrasounds! These are performed by students under direct supervision. Book now and grab those 3D pictures of your soon-to-be bundle of joy.
