Bracing for Winter’s Chill: Greenville Forecast
Hey Greenville! We hope you’ve been enjoying the cooler climate, because it’s only going to get chillier in the days to come. As we weave our way through the later part of this week and towards the weekend, you’ll notice the drop in temperature. Put those summer sartorial choices away, it’s time for sweater weather!
Tightening Temperatures
The mercury’s dip is going to be noticeable. Get ready as we’re expecting high temperatures wavering from the 40s to the lower 50s on Thursday and Friday. Then, be prepared for an even icier Saturday and Sunday, where the highs are predicted to settle within the 40s. The mornings, however, demand extra layers as low temperatures are expected to sit at – or potentially beneath – freezing as we’re waking up on both Thursday and Friday.
Wetting Weekends
But while we’re bundling up for the cold, let’s not forget to take along those umbrellas, especially if any of you are planning to be out and about on Sunday! We’re looking at another rain event heading our way, forecasted to commence from Saturday night.
Although it’s pegged as a weaker system, it could still be a notable one – don’t underestimate it just because it’s not packing the power of a thunderstorm. In fact, approximations hint at about half an inch of rain descending upon our area. And while the bulk of it would have us reaching for that snooze button – yes, the rain is expected to ramp up while most of us would be catching those precious Z’s, don’t expect the showers to halt come morning.
They’re going to be persistent, our little rain clouds, sticking around for most of Sunday before it clears out towards Sunday night.
Staving off Snow
But don’t go reaching for those sleds just yet! It’s expected to stay a rain event, even with the cooler temperatures. Just tap on those weather apps and you’ll note that as cool as the afternoons will be – residing in the 40s – the overnight lows are higher, clocking in at the upper 30s to low 40s.
So, while we flatten those earmuffs against our ears for the cold, we’re still secure from any fears of snow. The overnight temperatures ensure just that, keeping the climate temperate enough to prevent the rain from morphing into a snowfall. This applies even for our friends located up in the mountains.
