Spartanburg to Host Inaugural Hubcity Championship Chili Cook-off for Charity

Spartanburg Sets the Stage for the First Ever Hubcity Championship Chili Cook-off

Gather around folks, if you are in Spartanburg and are on the lookout for some fun while giving back to the community, then the upcoming Hubcity Championship Chili Cook-off is the place to be! Hosted by the Spartanburg Downtown Sertoma Club, the event aims to raise funds for local children’s charities and is scheduled to be held on October 12th and 13th from 11:30 am to 6 pm at the lovely Barnet Park. Cool, isn’t it?

Chili, Music and More

The championship isn’t just your average cook-off, but an official ICS sanctioned World Championship Chili Cook-off. Imagine the variety and delectability of the chili! To heat up the atmosphere, four bands namely Crosseyed Betty, Monkey Hill, The Millwrites, and Back 9 are all set to rock the event. So, not only do you get to taste some chili magic, but also groove to upbeat music.

Spartanburg Downtown Sertoma Club: Backing Local Charities

Since its inception in 1956, the Downtown Spartanburg Sertoma Club has consistently worked towards raising funds for children’s charities in the Spartanburg region. In the past ten years alone, they’ve generously donated over $360,000 to a handful of local beneficiaries. Some of these include the SC School for the Deaf & Blind, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, HOPE Center for Children, and more. It’s truly heartening to see such dedication towards the upliftment of the community.

More than Just A Cook-off

While the obvious pull of the event is the delicious, heaping pots of chili, the Hub City Chili Cook-off symbolizes unity and community spirit. It naturally becomes a platform where the community assembles, to enjoy chili and music, while also contributing to a noble goal.

So whether you’re a chili enthusiast, a music aficionado, or simply seeking a fun weekend retreat, the Hub City Chili Cook-off guarantees something for everyone.

Hot Updates for the Season

Fun and charity aside, we have something extra exciting too! If you have a Squishmallow fan in your family, get ready because the long-awaited Squishmallow Advent this year is about to sell out soon! Also, now’s your chance to amp up your Halloween decor game with some exquisite vintage ceramic trees from leading retailers. And guess what? The much-coveted floating candles from “Harry Potter”, wand and all, arguably the most atmospheric lighting for Halloween, are here to add to the merriment! Plenty of reasons to celebrate, wouldn’t you agree?

So, grab your spoons and get set to join us at the first-ever Hubcity Championship Chili Cook-off. Just think – wonderful food, fantastic music, and the satisfaction of aiding some great charities. What more could we ask for, right?
