Huntington National Bank Announces Major Expansion into North and South Carolina with Plans for New Branches and Job Creation

Huntington National Bank Expands its Reach to North and South Carolina

In what can be seen as a significant step forward in its long-term growth strategy, the Huntington National Bank has announced plans to expand its franchise into North and South Carolina. The bank’s expansion strategy doesn’t just stop here. Huntington Bank is set to make a big investment in the Carolinas, with plans to bring on board over 350 additional colleagues across various business lines and establish around 55 retail branches over the next five-year period.

Branch Expansion and Job Creation in the Cards

Initial branches are set to be strategically placed in key cities like Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem in North Carolina as well as Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville in South Carolina. This expansion will introduce and integrate Huntington’s extensive offering of services which encompass personal, wealth, business, and commercial banking to customers throughout the region.

Huntington’s Commitment to the Carolinas

The bank’s investment is a testament to its commitment to its 2023 Commercial Banking expansion into North and South Carolina, its existing customers in the Carolinas, together with the recent opening of its regional headquarters in Charlotte. “The Carolinas is a fast-growing, highly dynamic region, and we are proud to deepen our presence and bring our expertise and capabilities to even more customers in this market,” said the bank’s Consumer and Regional Banking President.

He added, “We are very excited to expand our franchise and bolster our retail presence in the Carolinas.” Huntington’s full-scale retail expansion into the Carolinas complements the bank’s existing multi-million-dollar and multi-year plan to expand its branch presence in several other strategic markets like Denver, Minneapolis, and Chicago.

Huntington’s Focus on Local Investment

Huntington National Bank takes authenticity and local investment seriously. “We are a national bank that believes in investing locally. We are thrilled to bolster our Commercial Banking investment in the region and strengthen our dedication to serving local customers and communities that are paramount to our mission,” asserted the bank’s Executive Managing Director and Regional President, Carolinas.

This expansion also aligns with Huntington Bank’s aim of presenting itself as a reliable and accessible banking institution, committed to the development of the communities in which it operates. The bank’s expansion strategy, therefore, presents an opportunity for individuals and businesses in North and South Carolina to access a wider range of banking solutions and services which they believe will cater to their respective financial needs.
