A Deadly Accident on Highway 292

Tragedy unfolded on the night of Friday, September 27 on Highway 292. Around 9 oโ€™clock in the night, a serene, moonlit drive turned into a scene of a devastating crash involving two vehicles. An investigation into the incident later revealed the heartbreaking details.

It turns out a tree, presumably uprooted by an intense gust of Hurricane Helene, fell right across the highway. The accident happened as two drivers collided with each other when they both tried to stop their cars to avoid the fallen tree. Lester Brown Jr., a 79-year-old resident of Wellford, was also involved in the car crash. Following the accident, he was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, but sadly, due to the serious injuries, he succumbed after a few days. On October 2, we lost Mr. Brown.
