SPARTANBURG, SC – A deadly crash in Spartanburg County claimed the life of a Forest City, NC man while being pursued by law enforcement officers

Jaden Beheler’s Fatal Accident

23-year-old Jaden Beheler of Dewberry Hill, NC met with a fatal accident in Fingerville, Spartanburg County on Friday after a high-speed chase with the Chensnee Police Department and the Rutherford Co. Sheriff’s Office. The Spartanburg Co. Sheriff’s Office also got involved as the chase entered their jurisdiction.

Details of the High-Speed Chase

According to the law enforcement agencies involved, the chase began after Beheler was identified driving a stolen vehicle. Two traffic deputies from the Spartanburg Co. Sheriff’s Office executed successful stop stick deployment on Highway 11, causing deflation of one of the vehicle’s rear tires.

Following the crash, video evidence from a Chesnee officer’s dashboard camera disclosed Beheler allegedly taking his own life before veering off the road. The young man was found by the officers with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, added the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

Spartanburg Medical Center’s Observation

The coroner reported that Beheler was rushed to the Spartanburg Medical Center following the pursuit and subsequent crash. Detailed medical examination suggested that the gunshot wound was likely self-inflicted while Beheler was still driving, leading to the fatal accident.
