Election Day Updates: New Polling Locations Announced for Spartanburg County Voters

Election Day Updates: New Polling Locations For Select Spartanburg County Precincts

In a key update for local voters, those hailing from four distinct precincts within Spartanburg County are set to cast their votes at new polling locations this year. The respective precincts witnessing this change include Cross Anchor Fire Station, Wade Hampton, Victor Mill Methodist, and Pacolet Elementary School.

The local authorities have strategically chosen the new venues, considering various factors like accessibility, convenience, and suitability for the voters.

Where Will Votes Be Cast?

If you belong to the Cross Anchor Fire Station precinct, you’d now be voting at Trinity Fire Department’s Hobbyville Station situated at 4331 Cross Anchor Road, Enoree.

Voters of the Wade Hampton and Victor Mill Methodist precincts have been relocated to the New Jerusalem Baptist Church at 413 E. Poinsett St., Greer.

Finally, if you cast your vote in the Pacolet Elementary School precinct, your new polling location will be the Benjamin E. Mays Center located at 850 Sunny Acres Road, Pacolet.

Why the Change?

The change in polling locations is ascribed to multiple reasons, each specific to the precinct. For instance, Spartanburg County School District 3 requested the change for Pacolet Elementary School purely to minimize disruptions caused by oft-held special elections while school is in session.

The Cross Anchor Fire Station precinct, on the other hand, is witnessing this change simply because the original location is not staffed anymore and was deemed unsuitable.

Victor Methodist Church precinct sees a change as part of an effort to enhance voting accessibility and simplify curbside voting. The church, despite being a reliable election partner for years, bore the brunt due to its far-off distance from the parking lot and the entrance to the polling place.

The New Jerusalem Baptist Church, the new voting location for the Victor Methodist Church precinct, boasts a spacious parking lot, easy accessibility via a groung-level entrance sans a ramp, and the possibility of designated curbside voting spaces near the entrance.

This change of location aims at promoting comfort and ease for all voters, ensuring a smooth and accessible voting experience on election day.

Remember, your right to vote is a civic duty and it’s crucial for shaping the future of the community. Stay informed and be prepared for the change!
