One-Legged Woman Strikes Man with His Own Truck after Making a Quick Escape, Spartanburg County Deputies Reveal

Spartanburg, SC

Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies confirmed on Saturday that an audacious incident unfolded when a one-legged woman not only stole a man’s truck but also struck him with his own vehicle. The suspect had caught the truck owner’s attention while seemingly helpless with her crutches, only to shock him with her actions moments later.

Rare Turn of Events

The victim, identified as Anthony Mann, had stopped at a SPINX gas station to purchase a beverage. It was here that he witnessed a one-legged woman, later identified as 30-year-old Kellie Revis, using her crutches to mobilize on the sidewalk. Empathizing with her condition, Mann intended to offer her some money as he stepped out of the convenience store.

However, before he could complete his transaction and exit the store, Mann noticed Revis ‘hopping’ her way towards his parked truck. An alarmed Mann abandoned his drink and dashed towards the truck, only to find Revis already inside his Ford F150. Despite his attempts to obstruct her, she managed to hit him with the F150 and sped away from the scene, leaving a bewildered Mann behind.

Quick Apprehension

Shortly after responding to the report, the deputies received information from the Duncan Police Department stating that Revis had been apprehended. The arrest occurred at a Chick-fil-A located at 1519 E Main St., Duncan, SC, after her escape was foiled by the vehicle breaking down.

The Duncan Police handed over to the deputies a bag of items that Revis had on her person. The bag contained half pills of Clonazepam, two small containers of Naloxone HCI, a syringe, and a pack of drug test strips. Mann, who owns a tow company, was summoned to retrieve his vehicle from the Chick-fil-A location.

Conflicting Accounts and Legal Consequences

Upon her arrest, Revis admitted to stealing the truck but refuted the claim that it belonged to Mann. However, the DMV confirmed Mann’s ownership of the vehicle. Moreover, Revis argued in her defense that she had no knowledge of the pills’ origins found in her possession. On further investigation, deputies discovered her license had been suspended due to non-payment of a traffic ticket.

Revis was subsequently taken into custody at the Spartanburg Co. Detention Facility. Several charges have been levied against her, including grand larceny (enhanced), malicious damage to personal property, possession of a stolen vehicle (enhanced), possession of prescription medication, and driving under suspension.

Constant Vigilance

Local authorities urge residents to remain alert and mindful of their surroundings. The prevention of crime often requires community effort and vigilance. As investigations continue, authorities are also keen to remind local drivers about the importance of ensuring their vehicles are secure at all times, especially when left unattended.
