Shocking Child Exploitation Case Uncovered in Pacolet, South Carolina

In a shocking turn of events, authorities from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office have arrested an Upstate man following a significant discovery related to the sexual exploitation of a child. The distressing incident has enveloped the quiet community of Pacolet, South Carolina in disbelief, and investigators have raised concerns that there is a possibility there may be more victims.

The Accused

The man apprehended by the deputies is Timothy Curtis Goode, a 65-year-old resident of Bryant Road in Pacolet. Goode found himself in handcuffs after a bold male victim, assisted by his mother, decided to break the silence and approach the authorities in August. The allegations laid against Goode paint a horrific picture.

The Allegations

According to deputies, Goode offered the victim employment, asking him to carry out yard and landscape work at his residence. Once the work was done, Goode beckoned him inside the house, where he reportedly asked the young boy to expose himself and took photographs. The report also mentions inappropriate physical interactions. Following these actions, Goode, seemingly in an attempt to normalize the situation, offered the boy drinks and snacks.

Explicit Evidence

A subsequent search warrant was executed for Goode’s cell phone, which revealed further shocking evidence. Investigators found explicit photographs of not only the victim but another unidentified juvenile male. The authorities suspect that there might be a connection to Greenville County concerning the unidentified victim.

Charges Against Goode

The colossal gravity of Goode’s crimes has led to him being slapped with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and criminal solicitation of a minor.

Need for Information

Given the high potential for other juvenile victims victimized by Goode, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Special attention is given to the contact number of Investigator Michael Hatch with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, for individuals to call with any pertinent information: (864) 503-4509.

Consequently, this grave circumstance serves as a harsh reminder of the urgent necessity to maintain open communication channels with children and always remain vigilant for any signs of distress or exploitation. It is the collective responsibility of the community to aid in the apprehension of such predators to ensure the safety and preservation of the innocence of our children.
