South Carolina High School Football Rankings Steady as Regular Season Winds Down

Columbia, SC — As the 2024 South Carolina high school football regular season approaches its final week, the On3 Massey Ratings top 25 list has remained steady. With the state tournament set to begin soon, teams are focusing on securing a strong finish.

Who Is Excelling?

This week, two teams from South Carolina have entered the nationwide top 100 rankings, highlighting their recent performances. The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes lead the state, maintaining an undefeated record after besting the Lexington Wildcats. Their 5-0 shutout victory exemplifies their formidable defense, which has allowed just 17 points throughout the season, earning them the title of the state’s top defensive team.

Notable Performances

Meanwhile, the Northwestern Trojans continue to showcase their offensive prowess. With an impressive 55 points scored against Rock Hill, they are now recognized as the best offensive team in South Carolina. Finley Polk played a crucial role by throwing two touchdown passes and scoring three touchdowns himself. Their next match will be against Indian Land on November 1st.

Other Top Teams Making Their Mark

The Irmo Yellow Jackets improved to 8-0 after overcoming the 20th-ranked White Knoll with a 35-21 win, and they now occupy the fourth position in offensive rankings. Their upcoming game is against Chapin on November 1st.

Also noteworthy is the Spartanburg Vikings, who recently recorded a season-high 58 points in a dominating win over Byrnes. They head into their match against Riverside, also scheduled for November 1st, having extended their winning streak to five games.

Across the state, other performances are also making headlines. The Summerville Green Wave notched their ninth consecutive victory by defeating West Ashley, while the Stallions of South Pointe proved their defensive mettle with six sacks in a match that kept them in contention for the top rankings.

As the regular season nears its end, several prominent teams, including the Laurens Rams and the Westside Rams, are in the spotlight, eyeing playoffs with high hopes. On November 1st, Laurens faces off against a tough opponent, while Westside looks to solidify an 8-0 record against Wren.
