Spartanburg Brewery on the Move: Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery Packing Up for an Exciting Relocation
Let’s raise a pint to news from Spartanburg where one of its pioneering craft breweries, Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery, has announced plans to relocate their operations in the first quarter of 2025. It’s an exciting twist for the popular microbrewery, and die-hard fans, beer enthusiasts, and newbies alike are all ears on the matter.
Moving to a New Spot in Spartanburg
Brewing up its unique flavors since its opening in 2015, Ciclops has always been a significant figure in the Spartanburg brewing scene. After years at their Union Street spot, they’re preparing to pack up their barrels and beer taps and head to their new location at 197 E. Saint John St. But why the move, you ask?
Well, as Ciclops’ director of operations, Rich Muller, puts it, the current location has been both a boon and a challenge. Limited in both space and food offerings due to proximity to another restaurant, the team felt that a move was the next logical step. Much like pouring a flat brew, sometimes it’s best to start afresh!
What to Look Forward To
So, what can we expect from the brewery’s new digs? Think big, folks! We’re talking about a whopping 4,000 square feet space, ample enough to accommodate more high-tops and bench seats, all nested within an alluring contemporary industrial design. But that’s not even the best part. Their souped-up kitchen means an expanded menu, with bite-worthy items like French fries and burgers making a grand entry โ food pairings that will perfectly complement their beers and ciders.
In addition with having a whole new space to play with, the relocation also puts Ciclops within a stone’s throw from a new 160-unit apartment building. This, coupled with additional retail, restaurant, and commercial space in the vicinity, is bound to pack in a whole new crowd. And let’s not forget their proximity to Mary Black Rail Trail, a haven for walkers and hikers around the region, expected to drive more footfall and recognition for the brewery.
Beer Innovations Galore
But what about the beer, you ask? Well, fret not! The expert brewers at Ciclops aren’t diluting their brews anytime soon. They’ll be bringing their classic ‘three-barrel, 30-tap system’ along to the new spot. For those not in the know, this includes their own line of 20 beers; stouts, pilsners, IPAs, and sours, alongside eight guest taps. And let’s not forget their namesake, cider!
The Ciclops team, including brewmaster Holden McGinnis, always has something quirky brewing. From their Phoenix Ryesing, a beer made with charred baseball bats, to ethereal tasting beers reminiscent of waffles, pancakes, and Warheads candies, the experimentation isnโt stopping anytime soon!
With all these frothy upheavals in the works, itโs certain that 2025 will be the start of an exciting new chapter in the story of Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery. So, here’s a virtual toast to their upcoming move. But letโs make a real one at their new digs come 2025. So, tighten those pint-grip muscles, folks, we’ve got new beers to try and a new place to explore!
