Spartanburg County on the Verge of Major Business Investments and Job Creation with Upcoming Billion-Dollar Expansion

Spartanburg Gears Up for Billion-Dollar Expansion Through Major Business Investments

Out in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, a big financial splash is in the making. Two leading businesses in the area are in the final phase before they can pour multi-million dollar investment into the region. And that isn’t all. There are more announcements waiting around the corner, aiming to make the county a fetching spot for investment and employment.

Allen Smith, CEO of the spearheading organization OneSpartanburg, couldn’t contain his excitement: “We’re continuing to lead the state of South Carolina in investment and really, become the job center of the Upstate,” he said. Pouring out the details, Smith stated the Keurig Dr Pepper’s has plans for a $141 million investment, expected to create 84 jobs, while Benteler Automotive is investing $58 million into a fresh facility.

A Billion Dollar Benchmark

Interestingly, the investment in Spartanburg County is no new affair. In fact, it’s pretty much customary to watch a billion dollar bucket being emptied in the area yearly. So, what makes this place so investment-alluring? The county leaders strongly believe that when existing companies persistently invest, it validates their claim of the county’s promising potential.

It isn’t just about the figures either; these large funds have had real-life impact on the community. The residents are proud owners of first-rate school facilities, not just in South Carolina, but across the nation. And they owe it to the generous companies saturating the region with much-needed financial fuel.

Doing Good, Sans Burdening The Residents

Emphasizing the fruitfulness of these investments, county council member David Britt stated, “All the positive things we have going on, we have not raised the property taxes in the 34 years I’ve been on council.”

So, who’s doing all the financial heavy lifting? The companies themselves. Britt explains how these companies perceive little risk when investing in the community. The track record is proof that there is no roll of the dice when investing in Spartanburg County. The past performance has been quite telling, with a whopping $4.3 billion in new investment and 9,125 new jobs birthed between 2017 to 2021. The subsequent years of 2022 and 2023 surpassed even that record. It’s safe to say that Spartanburg County is indeed a hive for investment and job opportunities.

Enroute To Sustainability

Meanwhile, major player Keurig Dr. Pepper is setting an eco-friendly example by ditching plastic K cups with a new technology. Their eco-initiative, along with Technological and manufacturing prowess, landed them as a top-choice for investment in the county.

Looking at the future, the month of October is likely to usher in three new projects, set to bring in millions of dollars and hundreds of local jobs to the area. The growth trajectory of the county seems unstoppable at this point. So, hold on to your hats, folks in Spartanburg.
