In a tragic route this week in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, a fatal car pile-up unfolded leaving a man dead and authorities searching for answers. On the evening of this past Friday, 65-year-old Lawrence Anthony Scott suffered fatal injuries following a single-car crash on SC Highway 101.
The accident, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol, happened about 6:29 p.m., involving a 2014 Honda Sedan. The ill-fated sedan was heading north on SC 101 in the vicinity of the intersection with Sharon Church Road when disaster struck.
In a series of unfortunate events, the car, for reasons yet to be known, veered off toward the left side of the road, striking a culvert before smashing into a utility pole. The impact was so severe that the car ultimately overturned.
Following the devastating crash, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s office was called to the Spartanburg Medical Center. It was there that they identified the deceased man as Lawrence Anthony Scott hailing from Greer.
Scott’s time of death was recorded at 7:36 p.m., barely over an hour since the carnage occurred. The Coroner’s Office has announced a forensic examination scheduled for the following Saturday as part of their necessary protocols post such incidents.
The Highway Patrol, meanwhile, is working relentlessly to piece together the events leading up to the crash, promising a full investigation into the casualty.
In other news, a distraction to the saddening event surrounding Scott’s passing, Halloween fever seems to have fully entered the retail world. One popular retailer has notably released a Halloween collection that has sparked quite the excitement among shoppers.
The collection apparently has everything that one could possibly need to transform a home into a spectacle of spookiness. From a creepy front yard display to enchanting wizard-themed gatherings, their decorations promise a bit of Hogwarts magic this season.
Fall is often associated with colorful leaves and harvest, but did you know that it’s also a fantastic time to plant? The cooling temperatures make it a perfect time to get your hands dirty. Whether it’s a delicious array of winter vegetables or a spectacular variety of flowers blooming in your garden by spring, a little work in the garden this month can go a long way.
Our thoughts remain with Lawrence Anthony Scott’s family as we hope they find strength and comfort during this challenging time. For everyone else, let’s stay safe on the roads while we enjoy the changing seasons and all of the fun and enchantment that comes with it—here’s to a crisp, colorful, and safe fall season to all!
