Historic Cocaine Bust Goes Down in Spartanburg County

Heads up, Greer, South Carolina! Your very own Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has just made history. According to a recent announcement, the Sheriff’s Office reported that they’ve pulled off a record-breaking, residential cocaine bust, the likes of which Spartanburg County has yet seen.

Now, that’s something not to snort at!

Shaking the Stirrup

Investigators chanced upon this gigantic bust at a home on Stirrup Court in Greer during a narcotics investigation on Tuesday, October 7th. Take it from us, things got real serious, real quick after that.

It wasn’t only the fine investigators from Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office who were on the scene too. The Greenville Upstate Carolinas Border Enforcement Task Force and some of Homeland Security’s very own were assisting with the search, really making this a team effort.

A Cocaine Cache to Rival Pablo Escobar’s Stash

What did the team discover, you ask? Well, fasten your seat belts and hold on to your hats, folks, because they unearthed a whopping 43 kilograms of suspected cocaine along with a cool $419,000 stashed in the unoccupied house. Just to put that in perspective, that’s nearly 100 pounds of cocaine we’re talking about!

Picture that for a moment: 100 pounds of cocaine.

Just How Big Was this Bust?

Let’s just say, this ain’t your everyday drug bust. It’s so massive that it just goes on to become the single largest seizure of cocaine from a residence in the history of Spartanburg County. You heard that right – it’s a first!

Now, if we were to talk money, this stash of cocaine could be sold on the streets for close to a staggering 2 million bucks. Yes, you read that right, 2 million dollars!

What Happens Next?

The authorities have identified a suspect and it won’t be long before charges are filed. But remember, folks, this is still very much an active investigation, and things are far from over. Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Homeland Security investigators and the Greenville Upstate Carolinas Border Enforcement Task Force, continue to work tirelessly into the wee hours to unravel more about this historical bust.

It’s a day in the history books for Spartanburg County, and a huge pat on the back for our brave law-enforcement officers keeping our community safe. Keeping their noses to the grindstone (pardon the pun), this massive operation has once again accentuated their dedication to their oath.
