Hey there, folks! We’ve got some exciting news coming straight out of Spartanburg for you today. Put your job hunting hats on because there’s a brilliant opportunity waiting for you, right here in good ol’ Spartanburg County. The county will be hosting a grand hiring event this Wednesday. So if you’re hunting for a job or looking for a career change, this could be just the ticket!

A Bumper Hiring Fest: Something for Everybody

A multitude of jobs is up for grabs and to quote Scottie Kay Blackwell, the communications manager for Spartanburg County, “We always have openings in several of the departments.” Trust us, your options are far from limited. They’re searching for over 1,800 hard-working individuals ready to contribute their skills to more than 40 different departments. This truly is a job opportunity that screams, “We have something for everybody”.

In Spotlight: Spartanburg County’s New Pet Resource Center

A special mention must go to the upcoming Pet Resource Center of Spartanburg County. With the new facility valued at an impressive $24.6 million set to open its doors in 2025, they’re looking to construct a dynamic team to staff the center. Dr. Kim Sanders, an authority at the center, emphasizes on the importance of getting the right people into these new roles. So animal lovers and vet professionals, you might just find your dream job!

To quote Dr. Sanders, the idea is, “to meet people and find the ones who would be a good fit”. It’s not just about filling vacancies, it’s also about forming a harmonious team which can work together to “build something beautiful together”. Now isn’t that a workplace environment we all yearn for?

Lay the Groundwork, Build a Team, Begin the Good Work

But here’s the kicker. You won’t have to twiddle your thumbs waiting for the building to get ready. According to Dr. Sanders, they’re eager to “begin helping the community as soon as possible”. So while the dream facility is being finalized, you can dive headfirst into serving the community. Don’t forget, with the storms that have hit our community, the need is greater than ever. It’s time to step up and take initiatives to provide valuable resources for the community.

Ready, Set, Go! Here’s Your Checklist

If this has piqued your interest and you’re considering pulling up your socks and heading out to the event, here’s what you need to do:

  • Go through all the available positions here
  • Update your resume
  • Dress for success
  • And finally, be ready for on-the-spot interviews!

No worries for the tech-phobic. The good folks of Spartanburg County have arranged laptops at the venue for folks to apply on-site. Go ahead, make a note of it in your calendar – Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the downtown campus of Spartanburg Community College.

And remember, folks, every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it, so let’s get set and show the world what we’re truly made of!
