The day began with a collision between a Nissan Maxima and a motorcycle on South Church Street around 10:30 a.m. The reports state that the Nissan was turning onto Bomar Avenue while the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was going north on South Church Street.

Tragically, the 53-year-old motorcyclist suffered a fatal accident when he was thrown off his vehicle during the crash. Authorities have identified him as Billy Keith Stevens. Despite the grave outcome for Stevens, the driver of the Nissan Maxima did not sustain any injuries. However, this resulted in the driver being charged with a failure to yield right of way. While it wasn’t confirmed if the driver was wearing a seat belt, no additional injuries were reported in this mishap.

Second Crash Incident Unfolds
