Spartanburg County Faces Traffic Disruptions as Hurricane Helene Clean-Up Begins

Spartanburg County Braces for Traffic Interruptions Amidst Clean-Up Operations After Hurricane Helene

Rise and shine folks! Here’s some important news for you this morning. Right in your dear Spartanburg County, as well as Greenville County, temporary lane closures are expected this weekend onwards due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We understand this may lead to some unexpected delays in your commute, so we wanted to make sure to get you this heads up bright and early.

Lane Closures to Expect

According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, which had to step in to coordinate and facilitate post-Hurricane debris removal, these lane closures are mostly going to affect folks traveling through I-85 and I-385 in Greenville County beginning Saturday, Nov. 9. They didn’t stop there. Spartanburg County drivers, you’re not off the hook, as ongoing lane closures will run through the I-26 route. It’s likely that these closures will stick around for about a week, so get ready to shake up your usual drive a bit.

But hey, we know you’re all smart cookies, so we’re here to remind you to slow down when driving, be vigilant about reading any signs, and most importantly, keep an eye out for cleaning crews hustling in the area. It’s a good practice to ensure everyone’s safety while tidying up gets underway.

Finding Alternate Routes

Just because construction’s got your usual route in a jam doesn’t mean you have to be. You see, there’s an app that could be your friendly road-guide during these times. The SCDOT 511 app or even the 511sc.org can provide you with alternate routes, but remember, sticking to your detour will be key!

Apart from Traffic: Some Fun Bits

Shifting gears a little from the traffic interruption, and to lighten up the mood, we bring you some more news – of the snuggly, delicious, and cozy kind!

Wrap Up Warm!

Throw blankets are all the rage this season. They come in every size, color, and fabric you could dream of! What’s more? There are also numerous types of electric or weighted throw blankets to keep you toasty.

Sip and Savor

Let’s Get Moving

Last but not least, there’s plenty of winter exercise apparel available for every part of our body in every imaginable style and color! So brace yourselves, bundle up, and stay fit this winter.
