In Spartanburg, sometimes intriguing things happen on a regular Tuesday. Now when we say intriguing, we don’t mean anything crazy or dangerous, thankfully. But on September 29, a small hiccup in the community’s communication systems caught everyone by surprise. The county’s non-emergency lines all of a sudden became unavailable.
That’s right. Out of nowhere, residents couldn’t access the non-emergency phone lines. Keep in mind, these lines aren’t your regular emergency calls – we’re talking about the lines that serve all the citizens with non-critical support for their law-enforcement, fire and EMS queries. However, before you go full-on panic mode, let us assure you, the emergency 911 lines continued to function as normal.
The good folks of Spartanburg didn’t skip a beat, dialing 911 for their vital needs during this period, and the traffic in and out of emergency rooms didn’t see a drastic increase – showing just how adaptable our community can be.
We must stress that these sorts of mix-ups are extremely rare and everything possible is being done to rectify the situation.
Rest assured, county officials are working on getting the non-emergency lines back up as soon as possible.
Moving on from telecommunication issues, there’s also lots of buzz around town about the preparations for Halloween. Before you know it, ghosts, cobwebs, pumpkins, and other spooky decorations will be popping out around every corner.
This year, residents are keen to create ultimate Halloween displays, without breaking the bank. Everyone’s looking for cheap yet effective decorations to add that spooky charm. Now, that’s something we’d love to see!
Not just Halloween, the onset of fall brings its own set of seasonal tasks. Taking care of our lawns, for example. One thing we always have to deal with is choosing the right leaf blower. The gas-powered ones might be convenient, but boy can they be noisy, not to mention their fumes!
Well then, what’s the alternative, you might ask? Here’s the deal – there are now at least a whopping 10 different alternatives to a gas-powered leaf blower out there. Though the thought of researching can be a bit daunting, the selection’s comfort and efficiency might just make it all worth it!

It might be troublesome to plan so early on, but it’s crucial if you want your lawn to lose as little as possible to the harsh cold. Turns out, there are some nifty tips you could follow to prepare your lawn best for winter.
Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted on any updates about the non-emergency phone lines, Halloween decorations, leaf blowers, and lawn care. For now, strap in and enjoy the chill of fall creeping in, folks!
