Spartanburg Man Busted with Nearly 150 Grams of Fentanyl

Suspect Found with Massive Quantity of Deadly Drug, Along with Cocaine and Other Illicit Items

In a major crackdown on narcotics, a Spartanburg man was recently apprehended with almost 150 grams of the infamously lethal drug fentanyl, reports HERE News Network.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Lamar Antonia Graves, was the primary target of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Spartanburg County Narcotics Unit. Graves was arrested following a search warrant execution that led to the seizure of substantial amounts of hard drugs.

Discovery of Illicit Substances and Items

Following the search at Graves’ residence located on Greenlea Street, Spartanburg, investigators retrieved 92 grams of cocaine in addition to the nearly 150 grams of fentanyl. A pill press, primarily utilized in the production of counterfeit drugs, was also found in his possession.

At the time of his arrest, Graves was already under house arrest for charges related to domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, first degree burglary, and possession of a weapon during the perpetration of a violent crime.

Charges Against Graves

Graves now faces multiple serious charges following his latest arrest these include:

  • Trafficking cocaine between 28 grams – 100 grams
  • Trafficking fentanyl over 28 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute within ½ mile of a school or park (cocaine)
  • Possession with intent to distribute within ½ mile of a school or park (fentanyl)
  • Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
  • Committing a violent crime while out on bond for another violent crime.

The arrest and charges against Graves are part of the broader measures instituted by authorities to curb drug abuse and related crimes in the region and safeguard the community.

The Dangers of Fentanyl

Per health officials, Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine. It is one of the leading causes of overdose-related deaths, particularly in the United States. Even a small dosage of this drug, around 2 milligrams, can be fatal.

This arrest highlights the ongoing fight against narcotics trafficking within the Spartanburg County area. Law Enforcement officials continue to urge community members to report any suspicious activities that may indicate illegal drug activity.
