Spartanburg County Holds Hiring Event for Hurricane Helene Cleanup Efforts

Spartanburg County Residents Invited to Help in Hurricane Helene Cleanup

It’s been a tough few weeks in Spartanburg County following the wrath of Hurricane Helene. If you’re a resident looking to lend a hand in the aftermath, there are plenty of opportunities. A company called Debris Tech, specialized in disaster recovery, is currently pitching a tent for those wanting to join in the cleanup mission.

Debris Tech is staging a hiring event, appealing to local residents to contribute as more hands are needed on deck. The position they’re filling involves monitoring contractors and maintaining rigorous records of their work. But here’s the thing – you don’t need to worry about having any relevant experience. The company ensures you receive proper training, and as a sweetener, pays out weekly with an estimated gross around $1,000. If you’re able to drive, hold insurance, and have a valid driver’s license, you’re already in good stead.

The job isn’t a quick fix. It’s no secret that the cleanup is a mammoth task that’s expected to stretch over three to six months. But committed as they are, Debris Tech has made it easier for those willing to step up. The hiring event takes place every Friday, kicking off at 10 a.m. and wrapping up at 5 p.m. You can find them at 366 N Church Street in Spartanburg.

Katherine Roberts, a local resident, highlights the hard-hitting reality left by the disaster. “It’s been scary,” she shared. “But the one thing that’s clear is that while we’re going through a lot here in Spartanburg, there are folks 45 minutes up the road who’ve got things a lot harder.”

Other Ways to Prepare and Support during a Hurricane

It’s not all doom and gloom though. As we recover, let’s bone up on ways to stay safe and support each other. For starters, upgrading your Halloween decor game can lighten the mood. Consider one of those vintage ceramic trees that have been causing whispers. They’ve got a cool, spooky vibe, perfect for the season.

Fancy a hint of ‘Harry Potter’? There’s hardly a more atmospheric lighting for Halloween than floating candles straight out of the wizarding world – wand included. Utilizing these can transform your space into a sanctuary during these tough times.

And don’t forget your health amid all this. Vitamin D is essential for maintaining good health. With several supplements available, it’s easy to keep up with your healthy goals. These small things can make the recovery process less challenging and more bearable. After all, as we’ve seen these past weeks, we’re all in this together.
