Spartanburg Celebrates Independence Day with Annual Red, White & Boom Celebration

In the heart of Spartanburg, South Carolina, locals and visitors alike gathered at Barnet Park for the annual Red, White & Boom Fourth of July celebration. The spirited event is held yearly to honor America and its rich history while offering a fun-filled day of entertainment for all ages.

The patriotic display prominently unfolded in the skies over Barnet Park as the day’s celebrations came to a close, with a dazzling array of fireworks. These pyrotechnics lit up the night sky, stirring awe and pride among the spectators. Among the participants was United States Air Force Veteran Susan Gault of American Legion Spartanburg Post 28 who expressed the deep sense of patriotism resounding in the hearts of many. She stated, “The U.S. Air Force shaped who I am as an American. I love this country and was proud of my service to it.”

Vivian Johnson, along with her daughter Chichi Azikwe, both residents of Spartanburg, also joined in the celebrations. “I love my country and came out to the park to have a good time,” Vivian shared. Chichi echoed the sentiment, “In America, you have a chance to be anything you want.”

Daylong Festivities and Musical Events

Spartanburg’s Red, White & Boom celebration at Barnet Park wasn’t just about the fireworks. The event also hosted a plethora of daylong festivities, including music and events throughout the city.
