Hey there, folks! You might have noticed that there’s quite a fair amount of buzz going around about some new developments on the horizon for our very own Zimmerman Road. It appears it’s about to get a significant facelift, thanks to a nice chunk of change – precisely $28.4 million – secured for construction financing by Avison Young. That’s quite a jackpot, don’t you think? But, that’s not all – an extra $12 million has been pocketed in joint-venture equity. Yes, you heard it right!
What’s Cooking on Zimmerman Road?
The buzz is all about two spanking new 230,000-square-foot industrial buildings set to pop up on a 78-acre chunk of land near the junction of interstates 26 and 85. The team behind this gig is RealtyLink, with Avison Young handling the financial reins. The first phase of this project will see the light of day by the end of 2025 – quite a futuristic timeline, isn’t it?
Now, if you thought that was it, there’s a lot more queued up for phase 2. This stage is anticipated to spruce up the area with an almost 420,000-square-foot build-to-suit project. Can you imagine how fabulous Zimmerman Road will look when all of this is done? It’s going to be quite the sight, for sure!
Access to Gigabit Broadband Services In Rural Area
Amid all of this infrastructural hullabaloo, Spectrum is planning to do something special as a part of its $5 billion expansion project. They’re eyeing the opportunity to extend their internet, mobile, TV, and voice services to over 6,200 homes and small businesses in Cherokee County. Thanks to their newly constructed fiber optic network, folks living in previously unserved rural areas will get the chance to enjoy speedy gigabit broadband services.
Groundbreaking Industrial Development in Cherokee County
While we’re talking about Cherokee County, let’s not forget the groundbreaking developments coming up thanks to GTIS Partners and Collett Industrial. They’ve already broken ground on Stateline 85, which is a three-building, 933,120-square-foot industrial development. The first phase alone includes two big guys measuring 198,720 and 224,640 square feet. The second phase aims to support build-to-suit opportunities up to a whopping 500,000 square feet.
Educating Students in Financial Literacy
In other community-oriented news, Fifth Third Bank has partnered with our favorite minor league baseball team, the Hub City Spartanburgers, to kickstart an education program for local students. The program aims to enhance financial literacy among young minds, a subject often overlooked in traditional educational systems. To make this goal a reality, bank employees will make regular visits to schools throughout the year to conduct engaging sessions on personal finance basics.
In addition to direct education efforts, Fifth Third Bank is also sponsoring the team’s annual education day game, where the Spartanburgers will invite school groups to Fifth Third Park for a day filled with both educational programming and good-old fun.
