Spartanburg Company Donates Over $100,000 in Supplies to Community

Spartanburg Industrial Company Gives Away Over $100,000 Worth of Supplies

Have you heard about the remarkable deed of kindness performed right here in Spartanburg? An industrial supply company in our bustling city took community service to a whole new level this past weekend.

Freebies Galore!

SteelCore Industrial and Welding Supply, a staple of our lovely Spartanburg community, emptied their inventory and offered up thousands of dollars worth of home construction materials for free. Yes, you heard it right, completely free! And we’re not just talking about a handful of items, oh no. They gave away a whopping more than $100,000 worth of supplies!

From crates full of water bottles to boxes filled to the brim with safety gloves and screws, it was a veritable feast of utility. That’s right, our very own SteelCore Industrial and Welding Supply made this grand gesture of generosity possible.

A Helping Hand for the Community

Now, you might be asking, why such an extravagant gesture? Well, Brandon Coates, the CEO of the company, offered a pretty heartwarming explanation. He said, “Without our men and women of this community who work in manufacturing and construction companies, we wouldn’t have a business. So, being a supplier of building materials and supplies, we felt called to give back to our community.” Coates’ statement truly reflects the sense of community that runs deep in Spartanburg.

Impact on the Locals

And it sure caught the eye of Rodney Agnew, a Spartanburg County resident and one of the many beneficiaries of this giveaway. Agnew had been having a tough time after he lost his wooden deck due to the wrath of storm Helene. Naturally, hearing about the free supplies, he thought he might be able to get something to help rebuild his deck, and save a tidy sum while doing so.

Another beneficiary, James Davis, a teacher at Blacksburg High School, appreciated the generous gesture of SteelCore’s help after suffering minor storm damage to his home. He lauded the community ethos of the company, calling them “fantastic.”

Leftover Supplies for Another Good Cause

And what about leftover supplies, you ask? Just proving that the spirit of giving knows no bounds, Coates added that any remaining supplies will be shipped off to North Carolina to assist in relief efforts happening there.

This simple act of kindness by a local company, reaching out to their community in times of need, is nothing short of inspirational. It truly embodies the sense of togetherness and resilience that exists within our town. It’s a testament to the fact that, indeed, community is at the heart of Spartanburg.

So here’s to SteelCore Industrial and Welding Supply, for reminding us of the beauty of community spirit and showing us that no act of kindness, no matter how big or small, ever goes unnoticed!
