Spartanburg County Welcomes Keurig Dr Pepper’s Expansion

In a big leap for Spartanburg County, Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), a top-tier player in the hot and cold beverages market, recently broke the news of significant expansion to their single-serve coffee roasting and manufacturing operations. Backed by an impressive $141 million investment, this growth phase is projected to generate 84 new job opportunities.

Known for its illustrious portfolio of 125 iconic brands, KDP’s identity indeed resonates with beverage lovers. With classic carbonated and non-carbonated beverages like Dr Pepper, Canada Dry, Mottโ€™s, Snapple, and Core Hydration, to the state-of-the-art Keurig brewing system and world-renowned brands like Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and The Original Donut Shop, they have a vast repertoire under their belt.

Unveiling the New Site

With eyes set on the future, KDP’s new site located at 3220 Moore Duncan Highway in Moore, will host production for the companyโ€™s breakthrough K-Rounds, an innovative, plastic-free coffee pod. Made from premium coffee beans that undergo grinding, pressing and are eventually wrapped in a protective, plant-based coating, these pods are a conscious step towards a greener future.

Remarking on the expansion, Keurig Dr Pepper Chief Supply Chain Officer, Roger Johnson expressed his enthusiasm. โ€œThis new investment will keep our Spartanburg facility as a key site representing our manufacturing and production innovation,โ€ he shared.

Tropical Storm Debby Damage: Gov. McMaster Requests Disaster Declarations

In other news, Governor Henry McMaster issued a request on Monday for a Presidential Disaster Declaration and a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster declaration for eligible counties in the wake of Tropical Storm Debby. The storm caused severe damage after making landfall in South Carolina on Aug. 8, 2024, with more than 900 homes reported damaged, and public agency costs and infrastructure damage estimated more than $16 million.

Bringing Forth Aid Programs

If approved, these declarations will bring forth FEMA Individual Assistance Program help for the most affected regions, covering Charleston, Colleton, and Dorchester counties. State and local government agencies may be eligible for aid from the FEMA Public Assistance Program, along with nonprofit organizations in several counties.

Alert, Oyster Lovers: South Carolina’s Shellfish Harvest Season Begins Oct. 1

On a lighter note, oyster aficionados can finally rejoice as the 2024-2025 season for recreational harvest of shellfish in South Carolina’s coastal waters opens at a half hour before official sunrise on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024. This recreational shellfish season will stay open till May 15, 2025, unless extreme conditions warrant any changes.

LRT Company Launches Hardeeville Senior Living DST

Meanwhile, the LRT Company, an avant-garde development firm, has unveiled the LRT Hardeeville Senior Living DST. This is a major project under Section 1031 exchange investment offerings. Funded entirely by equity from accredited investors, this $17 million private placement Delaware statutory trust offering is aimed at meeting the expanding needs of senior citizens in the Hilton Head Island region.
