Spartanburg Gears Up for a Melodic November with Live Music and Community Events

Spartanburg’s November Noble Notes

Good morning, Spartanburg! As fog embraces us in a chilly yet comforting hug early this November day, it’s a sign we are spiraling deeper into the fall season. To those already bundled up, rest easy with our silver lining— the sun should dash through the clouds and send the mercury flirting with the 70’s today. So, coat or cardigan? That’s a fashion conundrum for you to solve, folks!

Now, isn’t there something truly magical about fall here in the Hub City? Along with the kaleidoscope of changing leaves and the tang of the crisp air, there’s a harmony born from the strumming of guitars and lilting voices filling the downtown air.

Music to Our Ears

This November, we are excited to turn the music up in Spartanburg. We’ve got an array of live gigs planned throughout the month that are sure to thrill new and old fans alike. Fans of country music, jazz, blues, folk, pop rock, and even Japanese bluegrass certainly won’t be disappointed.

Live at the FR8yard

Our beloved open-air venue FR8yard on East Main Street isn’t about to let the cooler weather dull its sparkle. It’s all set to host the Flannel Fest 24, a three-day celebration of music and food, from Nov. 8-10. The free event will feature an impressive line-up of 15 musical acts performing live, including the Shane Pruitt Band, South of Charlotte, and Marc Huggins and the Chainsaw Bears. Don’t forget Alex Hunnicutt, who will serve up a mix of blues, jazz, soul, and funk on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.

Spartanburg’s Own Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium

Over at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, we’ve got a treat for country fans. Acclaimed band, Lonestar, will be performing live on Friday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. With hit tracks from their quadruple-platinum 1999 album “Lonely Grill” expected to be on the list, this is a gig you won’t want to miss.

Shortly after, on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m., we shall be graced with rock royalty—Queensryche. The band has performed to sold-out audiences worldwide since 1982, and we expect no less for their show in Spartanburg.

Fretwell’s Free Fun

Meanwhile, The Fretwell is another live music hotspot. Show up on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., and you might stumble upon the Unexpected duo, belting out a mix of country, pop rock and classic rock. Also on Fretwell’s roster is the local Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble, showcasing their love of big band music, and Angela Easterling Duo, delighting us with their folk and rock songs.

Benefit Show for Hurricane Relief

One event stands out for its noble cause— a hurricane benefit show to raise funds and donations for our friends affected by Hurricane Helene. This free-to-enter event at the RJ Rockers Brewing Company also doubles up as a beer festival and promises performances by more than 20 bands and artists. So, you get to enjoy top-notch live music while helping out those in need. Sounds like a win-win to us!

We believe that music is a universal healer, and in these trying times, it can be a much-needed solace. Whether you’re a Spartanburg native or just dropping by, we have a lot of solace to offer this November. Do drop by at these locations, and let’s make this a November to remember for the right reasons.
