Spartanburg Shooting: Man, Woman Arrested

Suspects Taken into Custody for Alleged Kidnapping, Murder

Spartanburg, SC– Authorities in Spartanburg arrested a man and a woman in connection with a shooting death at a local park. The deceased, identified as Krist Roker, was discovered at the park and early reports indicate he had been lured there by the arrested suspects.

Discovering a Murder Scene

On July 2nd, Spartanburg Police Department (SPD) officers were dispatched to Adams Park, located at 380 E. Boundary Drive, following a call made to report a shooting around 1:30 pm. Upon arrival, officers found the lifeless body of the 37-year-old Roker. An assessment by the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office estimated the time of death to be around 1:46 p.m.

Identifying and Capturing Suspects

As the investigation progressed, two local residents emerged as suspects. With assistance from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, SPD officers apprehended Jason Nathaniel Jurs, 34, and Natalie Alexis Hudson, 27, at a residence on North Blackstock Road in Spartanburg on the following Wednesday.
According to arrest warrants provided by Major Art Littlejohn of SPD, the pair allegedly lured Roker to Adams Park before Jurs executed him with a handgun.

Charges and Past Criminal Records

Jurs, already with a criminal record stemming from drug charges in 2017, faces charges of murder in addition to kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping alongside Hudson. Interestingly, the 2017 arrest led to a probation sentence for Jurs, who has now found himself back at the heart of a serious criminal inquiry.
Both suspects were denied bond during court proceedings and are currently held at Spartanburg County Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing, and police are working diligently to understand the circumstances leading to this tragic event. The Spartanburg community has been left shocked and awaiting further details of the case as authorities continue to piece together the events leading up to Roker’s death.
