Spartanburg County Announces New Learning Opportunities for High School Students
In an ambitious forward-thinking move, Spartanburg County plans to create 400 paid, work-based learning opportunities for local high school students. The initiative, aiming to empower young people with real-world work experience, kicked off on October 30 with leading employers from the community signing an internship pledge. Organizations include the county’s own health care system, school districts, and non-profit bodies.

Taylor Dement, the director of talent solutions for OneSpartanburg Inc., reveals that internships prove valuable not only for prospective employees but also for employers. According to national surveys, internships rank among the top considerations for employers during the recruitment process.
The initiative is expected to incite interest among other businesses to create similar learning opportunities within their organizations. “Together we can strengthen Spartanburgโs talent ecosystem and continue to better attract and retain talented individuals to our community,โ OneSpartanburgโs chief talent officer, Ron Garner adds.
Fox Sports Spartanburg Partners with Hub City Spartanburgers
In other exciting news, Spartanburg’s own minor league baseball team, the Hub City Spartanburgers announced a long-term media partnership with Fox Sports Spartanburg. Fans will now be able to tune in to Fox Sports Spartanburg 98.3 FM to experience a majority of the team’s 132 regular-season games and postseason games live. The station also plans to work with the team to deliver engaging radio entertainment and host live shows from the Spartanburgers’ home turf, Fifth Third Park.
CH Realty Partners LLC Secures $50 million Loan
CH Realty Partners LLC, a renowned real estate development and investment firm, has secured a $50 million loan to refinance a 150,000-square-foot industrial facility in Union that houses MycoWorks, a pioneer in utilizing mycelium technology for sustainable manufacturing. This transaction with MycoWorks shows CH Realty Partnersโ dedication to aligning with companies pushing boundaries in sustainable manufacturing. The Union facility currently employs over 350 people.
Benteler Automotive Corp. Invests in Expansion
Lastly, Spartanburg County continues to prove a hub for development as Benteler Automotive Corp., a globalย automotive supplier, has announced a $47.9 million investment in its Spartanburg County operations. The company plans to use the investment for building improvements and updated machinery, fixtures, and furnishings. The Spartanburg plant is part of the globally recognized metal-processing specialist, Benteler Group, and supplies automotive-welded assemblies and modules to automobile manufacturers on a worldwide scale.
