Two men were arrested in Sumter, South Carolina, following a violent shootout in the parking lot of a Burger King. This incident occurred on Friday morning at approximately 9:45 a.m. during what police described as a drug deal gone bad.

The Incident

According to the Sumter Police Department, the altercation began when one man attempted to rob the other. The confrontation escalated quickly, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. In the chaos, at least one vehicle parked in the lot was struck by bullets, although no injuries, apart from one of the suspects, were reported.

One of the individuals involved, 24-year-old Authur Jamaal Reimbeau from Spartanburg, was shot during the exchange. He fled a short distance from the Burger King before collapsing, where local authorities found him injured and in need of medical attention. In a further development, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Reed Street, connected to Nathaniel. During the operation, officers uncovered nearly $17,000 in cash and approximately 18 pounds of marijuana, which authorities estimated to be worth about $36,000.

Current Status of the Suspects

Both Reimbeau and Nathaniel are currently being held at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond. The police continue to investigate the specifics surrounding the shooting incident.
